what global warming?
It's freezing over much of the nation...over much of Georgia, Alabama, down into Florida where the iguanas are so unaccustomed to the cold temperatures that they're hibernating in the trees and falling to the ground - not dead, just sleeping. Be careful, though, when things start to warm up!! I guess we're not really seeing the global warming problem right now, though.

Flight on Air Tran
Flew down to West Palm on one of Air Tran's new planes: beautiful! So roomy and clean and really pretty - with Wi-Fi on every flight. One thing I like about Air Tran is their people - they are so friendly and non-stuffy. And Air Tran will get you there on time, whatever it takes, and safely, too.
At West Palm, we saw a plane take off for New York, loaded with snowbirders headed home; then the same plane came back in a few hours and was packed with Atlanta residents headed back to the ATL. Waiting for our flight, most of us were checking out the TV's around the airport to see how the Florida-Alabama game was going.
At the airport, I discovered something I had never tried before: tomato pie, served at one of the little food stations. Similar to pizza, but more like flat bread with the toppings of your choice. I highly recommend it! My choice was vegetarian and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten (I'm a picky eater, as my friends and family know)!

Palm Beach Parties
Fabulous trip to Palm Beach for the Lady in Red Gala. Jeff Bateman, of Tiffany and Company, was co-chair. He and his adorable wife Liz hosted a cocktail party at Tiffany's prior to the main event, held at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago. OMG! If you ever get a chance to visit that property, GO!
You probably won't see a gathering again anytime soon of the stellar crowd there Saturday night: the Donald himself was in attendance; CNN's Larry King was master of ceremonies; Rich Little, famous for his impersonations of our nation's presidents, entertained the powerful crowd. Industry magnates packed this prime Palm Beach party venue. Planning it all was the lovely philanthropist Lois Pope, raising money for a memorial in Washington, D.C. to honor the more than three million living disabled veterans. She's absolutely dedicated to this mission.
She was stunning in her five million dollars worth of jewelry - no, not on loan; the jewels were her own she had bought at Tiffany's from Jeff. The Tiffany store, on Worth Avenue, is a favorite of the Palm Beach socialites who can afford to shop anywhere they want and many of them want to deal with Jeff. He charmed the Atlanta money-crowd before moving to Palm Beach and his brother, Brant Bateman, is in the jewelry business, too, with LeeBrant Jewelers. Their gorgeous new store, near Perimeter Mall, is worth a trip alone; I tol Brant it was pretty enough to host social fundraisers and even weddings! Brant and Lee (Eskridge) are wonderful people - always smiling and welcoming. In fact, Fox News commentator Sean Hannity is a faithful customer...partly because he likes these guys so much and partly because of their incredible inventory.
